Thanks
to our annual Birdathon fundraiser, we've ben able to do
many good things for the environment over the past 35 years.
It's your contributions to Birdathon
2008 that will allow us to keep doing these and other educational
activities for kids and adults.
In the coming year Wachiska Audubon will
be dedicating three new protected prairies, sponsoring the
annual Backyard Habitat Tour on Father's Day and partnering
with Pioneers Park Nature Center and Spring Creek Prairie
for a number of programs and events.
Our monthly newsletter,
The Babbling Brook, reaches over 1,200 households, libraries,
and schools as a source of environmental news in Southeast
Nebraska.
Our education and population/environment
committees have a number of events planned for 2008 involving
nature education for kids and adults. Help us continue this
important work. Please consider a donation of $35, $50 or
$100 to Birdathon 2008.
Your gift is crucial to our continued success. Please help
us in one of two ways:
A. Contribute a flat donation toward our
Birdathon 2008 goal. Consider $35 during our 35th anniversary
or more if you are able.
B. Pledge 35 cents, or $3.50, or more for
each bird species Wachiska birders identify on Birdathon
Weekend, May 10 and 11. Our average count over the years
has been about 175 species. We will notify you of your pledged
total after the Birdathon is completed.
You should have received your Birdathon
2008 letter recently. It explains how your contribution will
help continue our conservation and education work in the
coming year. Please keep that letter!
If you lost your letter or did not receive
one, please contact the Wachiska office at 402-486-4846 or
via email : wachiskaoffice@cornhusker.net
